TATRA
CONTEST WINNER:
ADI aka Adrian
Dewey
|
The quality of the entries was very high but in the
end the members choose Adi’s design as the best Tatra entry.
With its flowing lines too its small details such as the center headlamp
and the fin bulge on the deck lid the car looked modern but kept enough
of Tatra’s past to make the perfect design. Congratulations
to Adrian Dewey for winning this months contest and as the winner
he gets to make the rules for the next contest.

I started off doing some
strange sweeping side views to get an overall feel of some of the
shapes I wanted but felt that they were probably a bit too mad for
the brief so I used some of the design cues from these early sketches
and combined these with a bit more traditional shape..to compete with
the likes of BMW, Mercedes and Jaguar.
I could then get a shape that was a sports saloon but retained details
like the fin etc. I developed the cetral light into an ambient light
with a grille that incorporated 'Tatra'.

Editors Choice:
Peter Archer
AKA MRDETROITMETAL
Peter entered his best design to date. The car design is simple
yet flowing and has a charm about it that could actually be a Tatra.
He has made great strides with his rendering abilities and S&D
would like to reward him with the Editors choice.
